Print It thanks local businesses for donations

Print It is a printing social enterprise providing work skills development for people with learning disabilities based in Scarva Street shopping centre, Banbridge.

The project which is funded by the European Social Fund, the Department for Employment and Learning and the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, opened its doors to participants in July 2015, and to date 12 people with a learning disability have began a two year training programme.

Print It operates as a social enterprise, and through trading as a business provides the participants with real work skills.

The business employs a Graphic Designer who provides customers with bespoke designed flyers, business cards, wedding invitations and other printed items, while the participants with the help of a support worker “finish” the printed goods off by folding, creasing embellishing counting and wrapping.

A spokesperson said: “An important part of the business is the recycling of waste paper and card appropriately. Through the kind donation made by Taranto, of a shredder, we have been able to add another task to the list of work skills our participants can take part in.

“The participants find shredding therapeutic and there is often a queue waiting to have their turn.

“Every business needs to be noticed and through the generosity of Yellow Hill graphics we now have a sign which lets potential customers know where we are and what we do, not only as business but also as a Charity.

“The Directors, staff and participants would like to thank the two businesses for their kindness.
