The prizes were presented along with the annual awards at the Children’s Day Service which was led by Natalie Forsythe. There was a great attendance of family and friends at the service.

Sarah Forsythe and Caitlin Shaw read the first prayers, the first reading from Mark Chapter 6 v30-44 was by Ruby Bushby, and all the girls joined for a wonderful rendition of Nobody can drag me down, the well-known One Direction song with lyrics suited to the occasion, as Sunday School Superintendent Carol McAlister explained as she introduced the item.

Ellen Forsythe, Matthew Little and Abbie Richardson read three short passages from the Gospel of Luke, and Sarah Forsythe led the prayers of thanksgiving.

Ruby Bushby, Sarah and Ellen Forsythe and Abbie Richardson then sang a beautiful rendition of I am the Lord of Sea and Sky.

The Sunday School told the story of Samuel, with every member undertaking a role with great confidence, and Mrs Doris Hutton presented the prizes.

Rev Hutton presented the Cups for Attendance and Bible Knowledge, and congratulations to this year’s winners who were Heidi Hansen (Attendance) and Sarah Forsythe (Bible Knowledge).

As the offering was collected by Matthew and Nathan Little, Natalie Forsythe played an item on the organ, and Mia Richardson read the offertory prayer.

Before Natalie read the Benediction, the Junior Sunday School gave an enthusiastic rendition of Thank you for our blessings. Flowers were presented to Mrs McAlister to thank her for all her work preparing the children for this service, and for the many years she has led the Sunday School.
