PRAY FOR LITTLE KATIE

THE parents of a three-year-old Rathfriland girl who is battling cancer, have spoken of the overwhelming support they have received.

Little Katie McKnight was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma four months ago, in a devastating blow to her doting parents Charlene and Gareth.

Katie has just completed her first gruelling round of chemotherapy and in the next couple of weeks will undergo more surgery, followed by a full year of treatment.

Katie's parents have spoken to the Leader to publicly thank the thousands of people who are praying for their beloved daughter to recover from this very cruel disease.

The young couple from the Ballyroney Road, said they have been blown away by the level of help, both in prayer and on a practical level, which they have received during the past few months.

And they want people to continue to pray for Katie in the weeks and months that lie ahead when their little girl is set to become extremely ill due to the high dose cancer treatment.

She says her faith is the one thing that is keeping her going. "She is my little girl. As long as I have breath in me I will continue fighting for her survival. She is my child and I will do anything to make her better," said the mum-of-three.
