Simpson and Anderson pay visit to Fane Valley

UPPER Bann MP David Simpson and his Assembly colleague, Sydney Anderson MLA, have met with senior representatives of Fane Valley while on a tour of Fane Valley Dairies in Banbridge.

“This was a very welcome opportunity to once again tour one of our premier employers and hear firsthand about the opportunities and challenges in the current economic climate,” they said in a joint statement.

“We discussed a number issues such as the success of the company’s current wide range of products, European regulations, Northern Ireland’s agri-food sector and issues affecting the NI economy such as the global financial problems through to local business rates and the proposal to devolve corporation tax powers to the Assembly.

“This was a very useful meeting and we want to thank Fane Valley for granting the visit and also to wish it every success for the future.”
