Swing into summer with singer James

A HOST of toe-tapping and hip-shaking swing fans are expected to descend on Solitude Park, Banbridge on Friday 17 August 2012 at 7.30pm when singing sensation James Huish and his band return to this outdoor venue for an encore performance.

James and his band, who were a huge hit when they first performed there in March, are expected to entertain the crowds with their rendition of classic tunes by a medley of legends including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Paul Anka and Harry Connick Junior.

Also included in their repertoire will be songs by James’ idol Michael Buble as well as tracks from his new debut album ‘It’s About Time’. With his on stage charisma and fantastic vocal ability, this not to be missed show will give people throughout the district a good reason to set their Sky+ box.

After a successful career as a singing tutor in one of the UK’s best regarded stage schools, a chance request to sing ‘Mack the Knife’ at a friend’s wedding inspired him to take his swing tribute on the road. Happily settled in his adoptive Belfast, James has taken his tribute across Europe and the States, cementing his reputation as one of the country’s top entertainers.

James has been taking the Northern Ireland theatre scene by storm over the last few years and is a regular on the local entertainment circuit performing to packed audiences in venues such as the Grand Opera House and the Belfast Empire Music Hall.

This free event, which will appeal to families, has been organised by Banbridge District Council. For further information about this event, call 4066 0605.
