Council meeting date confirmed

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has confirmed the date of its next virtual meeting.

Council will meet again on Tuesday, May 26 and Council’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is due to take place on June 1.

Last Thursday Council held its first ever virtual meeting. As the meeting started, Council’s Chair, Councillor Mealla Campbell told, the meeting that arrangements are in place for the next full Council meeting to take place on Tuesday,  May 26 and AGM on Monday,  June 1.

Speaking as last Thursday’s meeting drew to a close, the Lord Mayor thanked all who took part and made the meeting possible.

“It has been a very difficult few months,” said the Lord Mayor.

“I want to thank all of the staff, officers and the Chief Executive who have supported me and the Deputy Lord Mayor [Councillor Margaret Tinsley] for the work she has been doing as well.

“I am delighted that it [Thursday’s virtual meeting] went so well and I really want to thank members for their support tonight throughout the meeting.”

Speaking after the meeting a spokesperson for Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council confirmed that Council will meet, remotely, on Tuesday, May 26.

“Council are working on the scheduling of future meetings and can confirm there will be a full ‘remote’ meeting of Council on Tuesday 26th May at 6.30pm,” said the spokesperson.
