Police found two bags of drugs in stashed in Coleraine woman’s underwear: court

POLICE stopped and searched a Coleraine woman and found two small bags of drugs stashed in...her underwear.

At North Antrim Magistrates Court in the town last Wednesday, it was heard Catherine Anne Neill (46), of Kylemore Road, had previously admitted possession of Class B Methylethylcathinone.

Defence solicitor Garrett Greene said his client has ongoing problems with substance abuse and has mental health issues.

He said the defendant is addressing her alcohol misuse and attends counselling in respect of that.

District Judge Richard Wilson noted that Neill had not worked “in all your days” and he said that was quite a record.

Having read a pre-sentence report, Mr Wilson said he would accede to a suggestion that she is put on Probation for a year and participate in a drug counselling and treatment programme.

He told Neill if she did not that she would be back in the court and she could be sent to prison, where she has been before.
