Police conduct road-side interview after driver found with cannabis near Coalisland
A driver found to be in possession of a small quantity of herbal cannabis, was pulled over and questioned under caution by police near Coalisland on Sunday night.
Police reported that they seized the drugs in question on the Washingbay Road, before carrying out a ‘notebook interview’ with the driver.
Speaking about the incident on Facebook, they said: “This [the interview] is done under caution and will be used as evidence - it saves us taking the driver back to custody for the purpose of carrying out a quick interview.
“They have been informed that they’re being reported to the Public Prosecution Service, and they may find themselves having to attending Dungannon Magistrates’ Court in the not-too-distant future.”
