Police appeal following hit and run

POLICE in Magherafelt are appealing for information following a hit-and-run vehicle collision on Sunday evening (October 28).

Sometime between 7pm and 7.30pm, the elderly female driver of a blue Toyota Corolla was on the slip lane the junction of the Glenshane Road and Five Mile Straight when the driver of a red car collided with the rear of her car causing substantial damage. The lady was not injured but was very badly shaken up.

The driver of the red car did not stop and drove off along the A6 in the direction of Dungiven. Police say there were other motorists who were driving by and they are appealing to anyone who witnessed this collision to contact them.

Anyone who was driving on the Glenshane Road between 7pm and 7.30pm last Sunday evening and may have seen the bright red medium sized car heading in the direction of Dungiven is asked to contact Police at Magherafelt on 0845 600 8000 or call Crimestopers on 0800 555 111.
