Plans for Solitude play park unveiled by council

A proposed major redevelopment of Solitude Park play area has been unveiled.

Describing it as good news for the park and town, the head of leisure services Ben Corr said proposals included “a completely new play area utilising the most up to date standards and designs - none of the existing equipment will be retained”.

In a statement the council said: “We have always placed children’s health and wellbeing high on the agenda and no more so than in the provision of play parks for the district. To facilitate this important project we have appointed leading Belfast based consulting engineers RPS to undertake the design aspect of this ambitious project.”

Plans for the proposed development will be on show in Café Eden at Banbridge Leisure Centre this Thursday February 19, from 12.30pm – 8.30pm and Friday February 20, 10.30am to 6pm. The council are keen to hear the public’s opinion on this new scheme and will be offering the opportunity for you to have your say by filling in feedback forms while the plans are on display. A member of staff will also be on hand to answer any queries you may have.
