Personal letter from police chief

HOMES across E District’s four policing areas - Banbridge, Craigavon, Armagh and Newry and Mourne - will receive a personal letter from PSNI District Commander, Chief Superintendent Alasdair Robinson, over the next few weeks.

The letter will accompany a leaflet containing an up-date from Chief Constable Matt Baggott and an overview of policing initiatives and successes in each local area.

Chief Constable Baggott, who provides an up-date on how the Police Service of Northern Ireland is delivering on the Policing Commitments, states, “Crime in Northern Ireland is currently at its lowest level for 14 years, with the level of burglary and robbery also falling.

“We know that good policing is essential to everyone’s future because safety and confidence help employment, tourism and peace building.”

And he promised: “We will confront serious crime while still being there to deal with day-to-day concerns or emergencies.

“We will provide policing for everyone, whatever the problem, because that is what the people of Northern Ireland expect.”

In the letter, District Commander, Chief Superintendent Alasdair Robinson, also reflects on the decrease in crime in E District and the work going on throughout the four areas to build relationships and tackle issues that matter to residents.

The leaflet will be delivered to each household over the coming weeks and will provide a snapshot of the service being delivered by police on a daily basis.
