Former Banbridge Academy student scoops hospitality award

There were celebrations recently for a former Banbridge Academy students who scooped a top award at the prestigious Institute of Hospitality Northern Ireland Awards.

The Institute of Hospitality NI Awards for Professionalism held their 22nd annual gala evening at Titanic Belfast on Friday May 5 to celebrate the achievements of everyone nominated.

Banbridge Academy former pupil, Laura McKee, is lapping up well-deserved praise after scooping a top award, at the special ceremony.

The 22 year old clinched the Institute of Hospitality NI Award in the ‘Student Management Potential’ category.

Laura had been nominated for the accolade by her lecturers at the University of Ulster, and it was a very proud moment for her family.

Laura was presented with her award by the Chairman of the Institute of Hospitality Northern Ireland, as well as a representative from Stephen’s Catering, who sponsored the award, and TV personality Pamela Ballantine, who was the special guest for the evening,
