Flu jab to be provided at Ballyclare Group Practice

Detailing the move, GP Manager Sean Quinn said: “The flu vaccination programme commences in October, with the Department of Health emphasising the importance of this year’s campaign during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

“As there is no vaccination for Covid-19, the flu jab will at least provide protection against influenza and the risk of co-infection with Covid.

“Ballyclare Group Practice will be providing flu vaccinations for its patients in Ballyclare Medical Centre and will have a range of measures in place to protect patients and staff from Covid-19.

“All patients, who are eligible for a free flu jab, will receive a letter from the practice in the coming weeks, which will set out clearly the procedures in place.

“Given the anticipated high demand for the vaccination this year, the letters will state pre-scheduled appointment times and dates.

“It is important that patients do not phone the practice in an attempt to book an appointment as this will affect other services.”
