Covid-19: Mid and East Antrim community groups encouraged to reapply for grants
Groups have been able to apply for funding to help and support those in the community who cannot leave their homes and have no or limited support during the crisis.
The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Maureen Morrow, said: “It is fantastic to see council’s Community Grant Scheme being accessed to help community groups carry out invaluable work supporting the elderly and vulnerable during the coronavirus situation.

The scheme is open to all constituted groups across the borough and is in addition to the usual two grants per annum available to them.

A council-led Community Hub has been set up to coordinate support for vulnerable and isolated persons. The scope of services may evolve dependent upon the escalation (or not) of the Covid–19 pandemic, however, the hub has been established to receive referrals from the health and social care trusts and Advice NI.
