Co Armagh church offers free dinner to lonely over Christmas

A Co Armagh church is offering a free Christmas dinner to anyone who feels alone during the Festive season.

Pastor Aaron McDonald of Markethill Christian Fellowship says all meals will be delivered to homes on Christmas Eve.

The church, established in 2017, came from humble beginnings, says Aaron.

“For five years the elderly in my area would have met in my parents’ house.

“Due to outgrowing this we were kindly offered various buildings in the town but God opened a way so we could rent our own hall.

“It has always been a desire within me to help the lonely and the needy and this has been at the centre off MCF.

“Last year I gave over 20 hampers to the elderly and vulnerable and those who simply were finding it tough.

“This year MCF, along with a long time friend Mr Billy Quilty, will do out utmost to ensure that as many as possible will be given a free Christmas Dinner.

“It has been a difficult year and many are going to have to do without but it is the motto of the Fellowship which I stand over.”
