Those shopping a little further afield will also be able to avail of this service as the offer is extended to all council owned car parks throughout the entire Borough.

Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Darryn Causby, said, “The transfer of car parks to councils under the review of public administration means that we can now take the lead in offering incentives such as this.

“We hope free car parking will act as an incentive to entice more shoppers into our town centres this Christmas, not only for our local residents but as a means to draw shoppers from a wider area.

“Christmas is an especially important time for our town centre retailers and the Council must do what we can to support them.”

While car parking is free in all council-owned pay and display car parks in the borough on December 5, 12, 19, on-street car parking regulations remain unchanged.
