Time to hear good news story from Mr Crawford

HAVING read the recent article by our local elected representative Ronnie Crawford, I decided to contact Lisburn City Council to figure out whether his comments around the Lords Taverners event were accurate or not.

I was informed that Lisburn Council, not 20 Councillors, are taking two tables at the Lords Taverners Ball.

These tables are to be made up of various stakeholders and sponsors who support the many children’s charities that this ball supports. I understand that Lisburn wants to support this Ball as it may be in a position to host such an event in the next few years.

There is a belief that as a result, this will bring large businesses and a number of high profile visitors to Lisburn City.

At a time when Mr Crawford seems content to raise petty issues around council colleagues, I would have thought he should be concentrating on welcoming visitors, businesses and outsiders to Lisburn to encourage more investment locally.

I look forward to hearing a good news story from Mr Crawford and his party for a change as I am fed up of only hearing or seeing them when they want to play petty politics.

SW, Lisburn
