Organised as part of STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) work in the school. the event involved eight teams from year 13.

The young Formula 1 enthusiasts spent weeks in preparation on their cars using computer-aided design. This included sanding cars to get the smoothest airflow possible and resizing axles so that the tyres could be as close to the cars as possible.

On a race track that stretched from one end of the gym, Team Blizzard, comprising Sam Hanley and Anna Smyth, posted an impressive winning time of 1.07 seconds.
