Steam trip for pupils

The Railway Preservation Society of Ireland introduced pupils to the wonderful world of stream transport yesterday (Wednesday).

The RPSI’s Whitehead base welcomed school groups to receive an introductory talk, a guided tour of the engineering workshops and facilities and a short steam train ride.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the organisation and the Schools’ Day is one of a series of events taking place throughout Ireland to celebrate the milestone.
