Daniel Aidan Barry (28) of Oak Grove, admitted breaching a non molestation order and was sentenced to a month in prison suspended for 12 months.

The court heard that on April 7 this year a social worker went to a Banbridge address and, when she got no reply, looked through the window and saw the defendant. When police arrived they found the defendant in the back garden and he accepted hehad been in the property; he said he had been invited and thought the order was not in place.

A barrister said Barry had been there at the injured party’s behest and believed she was not going to carry on with theorder. The order was no longer in place.
