“Local people have been very supportive as have our local councillors and MLAs, especially Jo-Anne Dobson MLA who was a really great help.

“Needless to say we are hoping it will bring other businesses into the town too.”

Both Lorraine and Lyndsey love fashion and Lorraine said: “I have lived in Dromore for 30 years now, but always have to travel elsewhere to shop.

“We had noticed the bank which had lain derelict for a while and so we decided to purchase it to help Dromore and rejuvenate the area.

“We have so far employed two part-time girls and hope to employ more staff when the restaurant opens - we hope to open a tea room in November on the second floor.”

Welcoming the opening of the new business Councillor Paul Rankin said: “Lorraine had come to our office in regard to planning and we were able to give her advice on this so naturally both Brenda Hale MLA and myself are really delighted she got the planning permission and the go ahead.

“I was personally in the shop the day it opened and they have done a good job of the old bank buildings. I just hope people will pay a visit and appreciate the work done to the building. The building looks superb and anyone I’ve been talking to is pleased the building wasn’t left empty.

“I would pay tribute to the owners for investing in Dromore their local town, and wish them all the success over the years.

“This kind of venture breeds confidence so hopefully this will create a domino effect and others will follow their example.”
