Was a Past Master of Magherally LOL No. 58

THE passing of Mr James Samuel Copeland took place early on Thursday December 15 at Lagan Valley Hospital.

Jim, as he was affectionately known to his friends and acquaintances, was the dearly loved husband of Phoebe and the devoted dad of Victor, Ivor and Mark.

He started work with Ballievey Bleaching Company and then in Gibson’s Quarries as a lorry driver, before starting his own plant hire and digging contractor business.

He was a member of Magherally L.O.L. No 58 and was a Past Master of the lodge of which he took a special interest. As a lifetime member of Magherally Presbyterian Church he was a regular attendee.

He is survived by his wife Phoebe, his three sons Victor, Ivor and Mark, his daughters-in-law Vivien, Alison and Laura, his grandchildren Claire, Pippa, James, Ryan, Aisling, Jack and Adam, brother Harold and sister Mrs Helen Costello. To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been extended.

The funeral took place from his home 97 Waringsford Road, Banbridge for a service in Magherally Presbyterian Church at which his minister the Rev. Stuart Mackay paid a fitting tribute. The hymns, The Lord’s My Shepherd and Abide with Me, were sung.
