Liverpool supporter and F1 fan

The passing of Mr Samuel Benjamin Moffett on Tuesday May 14 caused much sorrow.

He lived in the Newry area and moved to Banbridge some 26 years ago where he was employed by United Dairy Farmers. Samuel retired retired in 2011 due to ill health.

After moving to the town he sustained a great loss after the passing of his sister, Edith, 22 years ago.

A member of Sheepbridge LOL 1350 and a Sir Knight of RBP No 38 Bessbrook, he was respected by everyone and enjoyed walking watching Formula One and following the fortunes of Liverpool FC.

He is survived by his wife Rhoda, sons Richard and David, daughters Gail and Caroline, daughters-in-law Sharon and Rachel, sons-in-law Peter and Sean, grandchildren Sarah, Hannah, Harriet, Jack, Lee, Ryan and Michael, brothers Andy and Jim and sisters Jean, Florence, Nan and Mavis.

His funeral on May 17 was held in Ballydown Presbyterian Church. William Bell and Co. had charge of the arrangements.
