June Walker loved to knit

MRS June Walker passed away at her home at 22 Cairnmore Park, Lisburn, on Saturday, November 3.

She was the dearly loved wife of Bobby and dear mother of Richard, Keith, Philip, Sharon and Andrew. June, who was the former Miss McConville of Shinn Road, Donaghmore, Newry, was brought up in that area as the only daughter of Hugh and Gwen McConville. She went to work after leaving school for the Hodgett family of the Newry Reporter. After meeting her husband, Bobby, she moved to Lisburn and worked in Thievpal Barracks. Her main interest was centred around her home and it is there that her passing will be mostly felt. She loved travelling and nothing delighted her more than to have a set of needles in her hand, producing home knit garments. She is survived by her husband, Bobby; four sons, Richard, Keith, Phillip and Andrew; daughter Mrs Sharon Kelly (London); daughters-in-law Anja, Stephanie and Niamh, son-in-law David and six grandchildren. To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been extended.

The funeral, which was largely attended, took place from William Bell and Co Funeral Home to Donaghmore Parish Churchyard. The Rev Raymond McKibben gave an inspiring address. Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu are being sent to William Bell and Co.

Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for Cancer Focus. William Bell and Co had charge of the funeral arrangements.
