Dearly loved wife and mother

The passing of Mrs Mary Elizabeth Beattie Watson took place at Iveagh House Nursing home on Sunday 22nd November 2015.

Lila as she was affectionately known to her many friends and acquaintances was the dearly loved wife of Jackie Watson 67, Tonaghmore Road Dromore.

Formerly Miss Lila Wright, she was born in Gilford on the 12th July 1936 to Adam and Minnie Wright and was one of three children alongside brother Clifford and The late Marie.

Lila was educated at Craigavon Primary School Gilford and then Banbridge Academy she then went to Gilford Mill as a Clerk.

She met her husband in 1958 and was engaged at Christmas 1959. They were married on the 14th June 1960, their daughter Jacqueline Ann was born on 19th May 1961.

In latter years Lila did not have the best of health and received tender loving care from her husband and family and Iveagh House Nursing Home.

She was visited regularly by her minister the Rev Nigel Kane.

She is survived by her husband, her daughter, son-in-law Colin, her Grandsons Stephen and Adam, her brother Clifford, Sister-in-law Margaret and Brother-in-law Hubert.

The funeral took place on Tuesday in Magherally Presbyterian Church when her minister gave an inspiring address.

The Hymns the Lord’s My Shepherd and How Great Thou Art were sung. Miss Elizabeth Ellison presided at the organ.

The internment took place afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard.

Family flowers were placed on the grave and Donations in lieu of flowers are being sent to William Bell & Co Funeral Directors 23, Kenlis Street, Banbridge BT323LR for Magherally Presbyterian Church Property Fund and Arthritis Care (cheques made payable to William Bell & Co). The Funeral arrangements were carried out by William Bell & Co, Banbridge.
