Nurseries mark 10 years of working together

DROMORE Nursery School and its Lurgan partner, Drumnamoe Nursery School, recently celebrated 10 years of working together.

To mark the completion of another year of joint projects, more than 150 children and parents attended a fun day - staged free of charge by the schools to thank parents and children - at St. Peter’s GAA Club in Lurgan,

“The children had a selection of fun activities put on by the staff of the two schools,” said Dromore Nursery School principal Mrs. Sharon Beattie. “There were mini-coaching schools for football, Gaelic football, rugby and netball.

“The children also had the chance to go on bouncy castles, have their faces painted and be entertained to a magic show.

“Children got an ice-cream from a ‘real’ ice-cream van, a barbecue and special snack.

Parents also had the opportunity to enjoy a coffee with sandwiches and buns while the children were entertained by a Jamaican storyteller.

“The sun shone and everyone had a great day, with every child receiving a rosette to mark their participation in the Olympic Year.”
