No insurance charge leads to driving ban

A 19-year-old woman was banned from driving for three months last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

Alanis Anderson, Tullyraine Road, Donaghcloney, was also fined £350 for not having insurance on April 29 this year.

As well she was fined £75 and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy for failing to produce her driving licence.

The court heard she was stopped by police at the M1 at Moira and asked to produce her licence and insurance.

A solicitor representing Anderson said she did not have insurance but had a licence.

She explained that the defendant had been disqualified earlier in the year and her ban was due to expire in December.
