A night of spinning yarns at Ballievey WI

At the March meeting of Ballievey Women’s Institute the members welcomed Nancy Moorehead of Cottage Arts and Crafts.

Nancy, who originally came from New Zealand, explained to the women about spinning, the different types of wools and dyes, and what preparation is needed before you even begin spinning.

It was a very informative evening with a chance to try the spinning wheel and see all the various types of wool on display, even one made from the by-product of milk.

The competition was won by Kathleen Moore, with Roberta MaCauley in second place.
