New support group for people with dementia

The group will meet once a month, on the first Tuesday of each month from 7.30 to 9pm, at Rosebrook house, at Brook Street in Coleraine. The first meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 7.

Adrian Friel Dementia Support Manager explained: “This is an exciting project. The group gives people with the illness a time to come together.

“It is important for a person living with dementia not to be alone.”

Adrian explained that a similar group was set up a few years ago and the feedback was very positive.

“Whilst this group is running, carers will have the opportunity to attend the carers support group, which will run at the same time, “ explained Adrian.
