New College principal takes up his post

Coleraine College welcomed its new Principal, Mr Ricky Marsh, last week, as he officially took up his post at the school.

Mr Marsh comes to the College having previously held the position of Vice Principal Curriculum in Coleraine High School, where he also taught History to A Level.

The new Headmaster declared, “I am really glad to be here at the College and look forward to making the most of the opportunities that will present themselves as a result of the reorganisation of education in Coleraine.

“My aim is to raise standards and improve educational provision at the College, and by working closely with the local community and the feeder Primary Schools, to increase enrolment, and make this school the non selective school of choice in this area.

“I am also looking forward to developing a strong partnership with Coleraine Grammar School to ensure that every child can access an educational pathway that best suits their needs.

“These are exciting times for Coleraine College.

“We have recently had a large part of the school refurbished and the new Art and Design suite is one of the best equipped in the area.

“I am delighted to be given the opportunity to work with the staff, students and Board of Governors of Coleraine College and to lead this school forward in a what is a new era for education in Coleraine.”
