Murder case adjourned

A LARNE man accused of murder has had his case adjourned until April 16.

Troy McAuley, 37, from Herbert Avenue, who has denied murdering 29-year-old Kenneth Nicholl on November 1, 2008 appeared at the Crown Court in Coleraine on two occasions last week.

The case had been listed “for mention” on Wednesday and again on Friday when it was formally adjourned for arraignment at Laganside courthouse, Belfast.

Mr Nicholl’s body was found in an alley between Herbert Avenue and Waterloo Road. The father-of-two, who worked at Ballylumford power station, had been stabbed several times.
