‘Murder attempt’ suspect arrested
Police in Lisburn have been holding a 54-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after an alleged assault on a 58-year-old woman.
At 5.15pm on Sunday officers responded to a report of a woman lying unconscious at premises on the Old Road, Ballinderry, where they also found an injured 54-year-old man; both were taken to hospital.
The man was later arrested and was due to appear at Lisburn Magistrate’s Court this morning, while the woman, who had suffered a head injury, has been described as ‘stable’.
