MULTI-MILLION POUND FACELIFT FOR TESCO

BANBRIDGE town's Tesco store is due to undergo an extensive facelift in the coming weeks, aiming to provide a more modern store with extra ranges and services.

The corporation's investment in the Castlewellan Road store is a sign of their faith and commitment to Banbridge said store manager Nicola Finlay

"We are very excited that changes will be made to our store to improve our customers' overall shopping experience," said Nicola.

"I believe that this modern revamp will breathe new life into our popular store and hope our customers will benefit from even more extensive, competitively-priced products and ranges to choose from."

Colin Hampsey, corporate affairs manager for Tesco, said the work to the town store shows their determination to maintain the store's service to the town even if plans for an out-of-town store at Bridgewater Park are approved.

"We are working hard planning new stores in various sites across Northern Ireland, however, we haven't forgotten our established stores that continue to provide excellent service to their communities," said Colin.

"We are continually reviewing these and listening to feedback about how we can improve them for our customers and staff.

"A further benefit of this refurbishment is that it provides employment for the construction industry and around 50 people will be involved from this sector.

"The store here on Castlewellan Road has been trading for more than ten years and we are committed to our presence here as well as our proposals for an 80,000 square feet store at Bridgewater Park.

"We hope this new look will be popular with our customers and this investment in our store will keep people shopping with us, and further complement the strong offer in the town centre.

"This significant modernisation of the store will see a complete overhaul of the existing store, with new exciting ranges, a new Phone shop, brand new Fresh Food counters, self service checkouts, to name but a few of the new additions - all designed to enhance the customer experience in store."

Nicola Finlay thanked customers in advance for their patience while the work is carried out.

"Throughout the coming months we will carry out this work with minimal disruption, however it is not possible to carry out such extensive work without some inconvenience," she added.

"I would like to thank all our existing customers for their continued loyalty and we will continue our great service to you throughout as we carry out the essential work involved in giving our store a modern facelift."
