Motorcycle raises funds in memory of Kirsten

Kirsten, from Hawthorn Walk, was just 18 months-old when she was diagnosed with ependymoma, a rare kind of brain tumour.

Despite Kirsten’s brave battle, involving years of surgical and drug treatments, and her parents’ ceaseless search for hope everywhere from England to the USA, Switzerland to Canada, the couple’s “wee princess” passed away in early October 2010, at just four years of age.

Paul and Lisa have since continued to raise funds in little Kirsten’s memory and it was to them that the Frozenbones Motorcycle Club turned in search of a charity beneficiary this year.

The club anually picks a charity on whose behalf they raise funds and this year they decided to support Paul and Lisa.

Paul Harrison of Frozenbones MCC said, “They lost their wee daughter to Cancer in 2010 and they have been raising money for the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children ever since.

“Our club, the Frozenbones MCC, raised £500 and it was presented to Lisa at our club’s AGM.”

The club, which was was formed in 2009 by Paul and three others - Sam Harrison, Andy McIver and Jeremy Kirk - has a membership of around 20 and they meet on the first Wednesday of every month in Boyles Bar, Dromore at 8pm. “We also have a rideout every month, on the third Sunday of the Month,” explained Paul.
