Memorial window dedicated

A new stained-glass window, donated by Mrs Vera Kerr in memory of her late husband, Mr Jack Kerr, was recently dedicated at Garvaghy Parish Church.

Described as “a faithful and committed parishioner,” Mr Kerr was a life-long member of the church’s Select Vestry, though he was better known as the former ‘Master’ in Garvaghy Primary School.

Many of his former pupils attended the Service of Dedication carried out by the Right Rev Bishop of Down and Dromore, Harold Miller. Rector, the Rev Captain Colin Taylor, also officiated at the service, which was followed by lunch in the Parish Hall, itself the former Primary School where Jack taught and a feature of the memorial window.
