McCrum’s tribute to a ‘fine soldier’
LOCAL councillor Junior McCrum has expressed his shock and sadness at the death of Lance Corporal Stephen McKee.
Mr McCrum said, “We learnt with sadness last week that another British soldier has been killed in Afghanistan. Our community was horrified to hear the news that this was one of our own very brave young soldiers from Banbridge.
“Words cannot describe the loss of Stephen McKee, he was a fine soldier and was extremely proud to be part of the RIR Regiment which he served with. At this time we would like to send our heartfelt sympathy to his wife, mother, father, brothers, sisters and wider family circle.
“I know the local community will give great strength and support to the family at this difficult time for their loss. Stephen has departed from among us but he will never be forgotten.”
