Independent Unionist Assembly candidate for South Down, John McCallister, has published a manifesto outlining his priorities.
Mr McCallister said: “I am 100 per cent committed to being a robust opposition voice in the next Assembly, working hard to restore faith in politics and deliver tangible benefits for the people of South Down and Northern Ireland.
“Working as an Independent MLA in the last Assembly I proved that individuals can make a significant difference to the policy direction of Government and effectively hold the larger political parties to account.
“In this manifesto I have outlined what I believe are the top priorities for South Down and Northern Ireland and I will work tirelessly to achieve what I can on my own and hold the Executive to account against the rest.
“On the back of the success of my two previous Private Member’s Bills, I have published a list of my legislative priorities for the next Assembly.
“If returned, I am committed to working with other independent colleagues and small parties.”
