McAfee ‘proud’
BALLYMONEY Independent councillor Roma McAfee has paid tribute to the Royal Irish Regiment after it was conferred the Freedom of the Borough.
She said: “I’m so proud to have been part of the council today who conferred the Freedom of the Borough on the Royal Irish Regiment.
“It was great to see several friends on parade and I have to admit there was a tear in my eye for parts of the ceremony especially when the soldiers marched through the town to Killaloo.
“Finally well done to the council officers who organised the event so efficiently.”
