Mayor pours praise on event supporters

The event, at Lisburn’s Cafe Vic-Ryn, was held in aid of the Mayoral Charity, the Mary Peters Trust, which provides much needed funds and support to Northern Ireland’s young athletes in their chosen sport.

It saw ladies treated to “a fabulous array of fashion and beauty demonstrations”, including a mini fashion show by local clothing business, Julie Elliott, from House of Vic-Ryn.

Beauty Boutique, also based in House of Vic-Ryn, was on hand to provide expert knowledge on beauty regimens and treatments and Pamela Forest, from Rhubarb Boutique, demonstrated how to tie a scarf in a simple and trendy way.

Guests also had the opportunity to purchase Christmas gifts at one of the many stalls on display, including fashion jewellery, Miglio, Menarys Gifts Sets and Trinity Gifts.

Hayley Mitchell from Fascinating Designs exhibited a range of bespoke fascinators, while those wishing to brush up on their cookery skills were able to select from a range of cookery books.

Guests were also served supper by Café Vic-Ryn and music was provided by brass band, Dynamic Brass.

“I was absolutely delighted,” said Councillor Beckett, “to see so many people at the vintage tea evening, supporting a great charity.

“This was most definitely the perfect ladies’ night out and a chance for friends and family to come together for a fun evening of fashion and pampering.

“I would like to thank everyone who came and I hope you all had a fantastic time.

“My sincere thanks goes to Café Vic-Ryn for hosting the evening and also to all the exhibitors and local businesses for taking the time to come along to support this event; it was tremendous success.”
