Maternity unit at LVHwelcomes 100th baby

THERE were celebrations at the new midwife-led maternity unit at the Lagan Valley Hospital recently when the unit welcomed its 100th baby into the world.

Lead Midwife Zoe Boreland is delighted with the success of the new unit, which has been open for just six months.

“I am absolutely thrilled the births in Lagan Valley Midwifery Led Unit continue to grow and that we have achieved the first year target after only six months,” she said.

“The local mothers have been very loyal, continuing the support for the maternity unit since the service changed whilst the staff have been very committed and worked hard to ensure its success. We can only go from strength to strength into the future.”
