Man urinated in police cell
A 25 year old Banbridge man who urinated in a cell of Banbridge Police Station has been charged with criminal damage and fined £50.
‘Spending a penny; cost Jason Morton from Whyte Acres a bit more as he also had to pay £4 compensation - which will cover the cost of cleaning products used on the cell.
Morton appeared before Banbridge Magistrates’ Court last Thursday and a prosecutor explained how he had caused damage to the cell on 22 April last year.
The defendant’s solicitor said his client had been kept overnight and was inebriated when the call of nature occurred.
“He was fully repentant and offered to clean it himself.”
Morton was also ordered to pay an offenders levy of £15.
