Man on harassment charge

A 28-year-old man has been charged with pursuing a course of harassment against seven different females.

And he also faces seven charges of sending grossly offensive messages to the same alleged victims.

James Bernard Anthony Carragher, Plantation Road, Bleary, appeared in the dock last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

He faces seven charges, alleged to have happened in April and May of this year, that he pursued a course of harassment which he knew or ought to have known amounted to harassment.

Carragher is also charged that he sent, by means of a public electronic communications network, a message or other matter that was grossly offence on seven occasions, also in April and May this year.

Last week’s court heard that he was in custody on another matter, a Lisburn case.

His solicitor did not make an application for bail.

Carragher was remanded in custody to appear again at Craigavon court by way of videolink on October 16.
