Man found under table
A 42-year-old man was given suspended prison sentences last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for two assaults on police officers.
John Keith Gates, Enniskeen, Craigavon, had admitted the offences at a previous court and sentencing had been deferred.
The court heard that on April 12 last year Gates was in Enniskeen in breach of a condition of his bail. Police found him hiding under a kitchen table. He refused to come out and when police tried to get him he hit an officer in the face and kicked another one on the upper legs.
Gates had received a suspended sentence in the Crown Court but there had been no further offending. For each assault Gates was sentenced to six months in custody, suspended for three years.
