Man is fined for defective tyres

Bartlomiej Grajnert, Whyte Acres, Banbridge, admitted two charges of having a defective tyre when he appeared last Thursday at the local magistrates’ court.

For each offence he was fined £100. He was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy and given three points.

The court heard that he was stopped at a checkpoint on the Lurgan Road, Banbridge, on October 27, 2012.

Police examined the tyres and found that the tread on both of the rear tyres was below the legal limit.

Grajnert, pleaded guilty himself in court.
