Man faces weapons charges

A 41-year- old man has been charged with a series of offences including possessing offensive weapons, namely a knife, a metal post and a dog chain.

Phillip Robert George Harrison, of Brookfield Avenue, Banbridge, made a first appearance last Thursday at the local magistrates’ court. Harrison is accused of five offences, all of which are alleged to have happened on July 13 this year.

There are three charges of possessing an offensive weapon, namely a knife, metal post and a dog chain, unlawful assault on a female and entering as a trespasser a building at Golf Terrace, Banbridge, with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm on a female.

A public prosecutor said they were waiting for a full file and asked for an adjournment until September 8.

Harrison was remanded on his own bail of £500.
