Man faces serious sexual offences

A Banbridge man has appeared before the local court charged with a number of serious sexual offences.

A solicitor for Roy Ringland, a stock controller, from Beechlands said his client will be contesting all charges and strongly denies them.

Ringland is charged with trespass with intent to commit sexual offences, sexual assault on a female, indecent exposure and threats to damage property.

The offences are alleged to have occurred on 16 February.

A PSNI Constable said she believed she could connect the 25-year-old to all charges.

Ringland was released on his own bail of £500 with a number of conditions attached.

He is not allowed to consume alcohol or enter licensed premises, he must sign bail at the police station once a week, and he must have no contact with the injured party or enter Ravensdale, Banbridge.

The matter was adjourned for four weeks for a file update.
