Man charged after stabbing in Craigavon

A 20-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Craigavon at the weekend.

David Benson, aged 24, remains in a critical condition in hospital after being attacked on Friday night.

According to the PSNI, Mr Benson was stabbed at a house in the Enniskeen estate at around 11pm.

A spokesperson for Craigavon Area Hospital said he is still being treated in the Intensive Care Unit. His condition is described as ‘critical but stable’.

Brian Michael O’Neill from Portlec Place, has been charged with attempted murder.

At Lisburn Court, O’Neill was remanded in custody to Hydebank Young Offenders Centre and is due to appear in Craigavon Court tomorrow (Friday), November 2 via video link.

Friends and relatives of Mr Benson have been leaving get well messages on his Facebook page.
