Man assaulted two officers in Banbridge

Sentencing in the case of a Banbridge man who admitted assaulting two policemen has been put back to next month.

The adjournment is so that a pre-sentence report can be prepared.

Paul Bingham (24), Linenhall Street, Banbridge, pleaded guilty last Thursday at the local court to two charges of assault on the police, resisting police and disorderly behaviour at Iveagh Drive in the town on August 18 this year.

The court heard there was a live suspended sentence in place and the case was adjourned to October 1 for probation to prepare a pre-sentence report.
