Man admits assault charge

Dwayne McKnight, Granville Gardens, Banbridge, had originally pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The case was listed for a contest last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court but on the day the defendant changed his plea to guilty.

He was re-arraigned and admitted that between March 20 and March 23 this year he assaulted a male occasioning him actual bodily harm.

District Judge, Mr Paul Copeland, said McKnight had a significant record and adjourned the case until December 17 so that a pre-sentence report could be obtained.
