Majority wish to remain in EU

A survey carried out by Danske Bank across the Southern region of Northern Ireland, including Banbridge, have revealed 52 per cent of respondents wish to remain in the EU.

The survey, carried out on 360 people in March, also revealed 19 per cent wanted to leave the EU and 28 per cent said they were uncertain.

In comparison to a 2015 survey carried out by Danske Bank, support for staying in the European Union in this region has fallen from 61 per cent to 52 per cent – which is lower than the Northern Ireland average of 58 per cent.

Simultaneously in this area there has been a rise in the proportion supporting a Brexit, rising from 16 per cent to 19 per cent.
